Soccer Fun!

by Brenda

A couple of weeks ago Bethany and I went to a Real Salt Lake soccer game at Rio Tinto stadium with our nephews Boyd & Isaac. We had a great time! To kick off the game, several military men parachuted down into the stadium. Then a large plane did a fly over right above our heads.

The Real played the Colorado Rapids. We cheered with the crowd, screamed taunts towards the other team, and made lots of noise with bright red thunder sticks.

The professional soccer players were amazing to watch. They could kick the ball all the way across the field. When they used their heads to intercept the ball it got propelled so high in the air that we thought it might fly out of the stadium! When a player got knocked down he'd lie face down on the ground while the game continued around him. It appeared like players get hurt a lot while playing soccer. We wanted our team to win, but the game ended in a 1-1 tie.

After the game, we were treated to a concert by David Archuletta. He sang his hit song "Crush" which we've heard before on the radio. He also played a song on the piano which was very beautiful.

Once the concert ended we walked a couple of blocks back to our car. The police were controlling traffic and let us cross diagonally across a large intersection. That helped us get back to our car more quickly.

What a fun night we had! I hope we get to do it again very soon!!!

Happy Mother's Day

In honor of Mother's Day, here's a pic of the quilt we made our mom for Christmas. Isn't it pretty?!

I love spring

Isn't spring great? This year our apple tree had more blossoms on it than ever before. It's so beautiful! I hope this means we will be getting lots of apples in the fall. Last year we only got one so that was a bit of a disappointment. This year, however, I'm optimistic that our numbers of apples will grow exponentially over what they were last year.

It's almost warm enough to plant our garden. Hooray! I love digging in the dirt and am looking forward to planting some flowers and vegetables in my yard. Nothing beats the taste of a homegrown tomato.

Welcome!

Welcome to our new blog where we'll be recording our quilting thoughts and ideas and pretty much anything else that we want to write about. Enjoy!
